Family Based Services Association of NJ, Inc. is an organization of families and community members whose mission is to ensure that every family who has children with special emotional and behavioral needs is given community based resources and support.

SUPPORT

Our staff is made up of parents and guardians of children with emotional and behavioral challenges. The staff understands the unique challenges and provides peer to peer support to families in Monmouth County. We provide  one on one support if a family is involved with Unified Care management. Families are involved in a wraparound service developing a team to help unify the family.

Another avenue of support provided is support groups. Groups are held weekly serving the entire Monmouth County in various locations.

A warm line is a form of support where anyone can call our office and speak to a staff member who understands  unique family situations. Our warm line is used for support as well as providing resource referrals to community agencies.

EDUCATE

All the services provided are intended to educate all families we work with as well as the community. In all of the support groups parenting classes are incorporated into the groups. Families are able to get the needed support as well as learn new skills. Staff is trained to educate families and teach advocacy skills.

ADVOCATE

Advocating is an important skill to learn. Our family support partners are trained to prepare families to build confidence, and to speak about whats best for their families. We encourage and help find resources to help the family remain strong once services are no longer in place.
